Graydon Scrapbook
Many home use the 5×8 foot configuration. This home (1950s) had a chimney (but no fireplace) in the middle of the house which made a layout difficult. In this instance, we increased the size of the bathroom by using an unused alcove from the adjoining dining room.
Beginning
Demolition 1
The demolition of this 5×8 room begins. Original layout had the tub at he far end.
Alcove
This is a view with the wall from the dining room removed. This was a ‘dead’ alcove in the dining room.

The new tub installed. All new plumbing, updated electrical, knee wall (which will support glass).

The tub will be in a partial alcove. Rather than a full wall, it will have a knee wall with glass at the one end.
