Time for a new kitchen! As this kitchen was reaching end of life with the (now) dread golden oak, it was time to reconfigure the layout. Closed off one doorway so we could extend the space further — and removed the awful awful peninsula (why anyone thought that was a good idea…I’m not sure). Removed the bulkheads above the cabinets, new floors throughout, upgraded lighting (pot lights and pendants), then all the sizzle features: utensil drawers, pot-and-pan drawers, white knight granite counters, decorative panels around the island, garbage pullouts, pantry pullouts, a wine cubby, floating shelves.

Everyone asks me what is new in kitchen — what is awesome and what works and my answer is always the same: drawers. Drawers, drawers, drawers.
